Bill Bragg
Bill Bragg's approach to painting evolved out of the abstract expressionist movement of the 1950s. He has passed through many approaches to abstraction, however, he always seems to return to the figure as the basis of his composition. Although it is often difficult to define anatomy, the images emerge, evoking a sense of both familiarity and mystery. His color and texture suggest a distant era; one of romance and spiritualism. After a long and prestigious curatorial career, Bill Bragg is enjoying his retirement in Kelowna. He has been an active painter for more than 46 years.
He studied at Ontario College of Art, and was a student of Jock MacDonald, and Jack Bush.
