Graham Twomey
Graham Twomey is an artist living in the dramatic Canadian Rockies. With over 12 years experience in multimedia expression, he continues to be a prolific photographer. Capturing both the natural and human environment, Graham's interpretive work frames an image that may be unrelated to the actual subject matter, while remaining part of a larger story.
Graham studied at the Alberta College of Art and Vancouver Film School before spending several years as an art director and animal trainer in the film industry. In 2002 Graham moved to Canmore, Alberta to be closer to his family and in so doing has worked exclusively on his photography, fine art and design.
Graham Twomey's images are mastered on a Hasselblad H1 Medium format camera with a Imacon 96c 16 megapixel digital back. Very little digital manipulation is done to the original files to keep the image as true as possible.
The printing process Graham uses is:
Lightjet prints from digital files using a fixed laser system to expose the image onto the emulsion of traditional photographic paper, which is run through traditional RA4 chemicals to produce the photograph. Lightjet prints are true continuous tone photographs, on actual photographic paper, tested to be more archival than other colour printing methods. With a colour fastness for 50 to 100 years, these prints are suitable for museums and galleries.
A U/V Glossy Laminate is applied to extend the life of the print well beyond the 50-100 years that the Lightjet print offers. The estimate of when the print will begin to fade is beyond 300 years
